Bio

Here I am in Little Bridges, on the Pomona College campus in Claremont after a lecture recital.

Danielle Rosaria Cummins, M.A. is a violinist who has performed throughout Southern California with orchestras such as the Riverside County Philharmonic and the Idyllwild Arts Academy Orchestra as well as in Austria, Slovakia, and Hungary with the Classical Music Festival. In 2005, she won the advanced category of the Youth String Competition in Temecula and the graduate division of the Rudolph Polk Memorial Award in Claremont. During the past four years, she has been invited to play at Our Lady of the Angels in Los Angeles. In 2007, she was a soloist on The Music of Life, a Christian production which appeared on television, and in 2008 she collaborated with violinist/ composer Sarah Wallin to write the original sound track for The Visit, a short film directed by Steve Zelt which appeared in the "168 Hour Film Festival" . Ms. Cummins is currently studying violin with Todor Pelev, first prize winner of Bulgaria's National Violin Competition. She teaches at the Claremont Community School of Music where she is faculty coordinator for the strings department. She also teaches at the University of La Verne and privately. Her students range in age from 6 to +50. She is currently pursuing a DMA in Historical Performance Practice – Violin, at Claremont Graduate University.
